Rianne Spoon, a 22-year-old Dutch medical student, was received into the Church this past December 12 during a solemn Mass in the Cathedral of St. Catherine in Utrecht, Netherlands. Here is her account:

Testimony of Paul Ybarra, a Los Angeles firefighter for nearly twenty years. He has three children, two of them adopted.

“The knowledge that I’m a much-loved daughter of God, my “divine filiation”, and that everything that happens to me is either willed or permitted by God, gives me a wonderful feeling of security, a great peace.” Testimony of Virginia McGough, homemaker in Cheshire, Great Britain, married with five children between 5 and 13.

James Burfitt comes from Sydney, Australia. A school teacher for nearly 20 years, he also writes film reviews in a magazine for families.

Testimony of Petra Herold of Forchheim, Germany. She studied physics and mathematics, and is now married with four children.

Ann Jose Varavukala moved to the United States from New Delhi, India because her autistic son needed special education. The writings of St. Josemaría helped her to accept her son’s condition and to find consolation in the sacraments.

“A child bangs a door. I call him or her back - ‘Open the door and shut it softly and say, "Jesus, I love you".’” Vickie Amugela, from Nairobi, Kenya, is the mother of five children. She has two full-time jobs, schoolteacher and homemaker.
