On 18 May 2019, the day of Guadalupe's beatification, Veronica was finally located by Chilean Navy rescue services after being adrift in the Pacific Ocean for eight hours. Her parents are convinced that it was through Guadalupe's intercession.

A new biography of Ernesto Cofiño, who was born on 5 June 1899 and whose cause of canonization has been opened, is now available from Scepter Publishers.

Blessed Alvaro liked to “visit” Mary by praying the rosary while walking or traveling to a specific Marian shrine or even simpler places with her image. During the years he lived in Rome, he discovered many lesser-known sanctuaries of popular devotion around the city.

Besides being her feast day, May 18th is the first anniversary of the beatification of Guadalupe Ortiz de Landázuri.

May 12th is the liturgical feast day of Blessed Alvaro del Portillo. On Tuesday, from 6 pm to 8 pm Rome time (GMT+2), a webcam will offer live streaming of Blessed Alvaro's tomb, in the crypt of the prelatic church of Our Lady of Peace.
