When she left the Work, Anita began working in different companies, in areas that had little to do with service. But something told her it wasn’t for her. Now she is in charge of food services at a school in Santiago for 700 people, including students, teachers, and administrative staff. She says it’s work she’s passionate about, because through very tangible things she can make others feel welcome and help make their day a little brighter.

“I learned all this in the Work, dedicating myself to making a home in the Work,” she says, and she tries to share that ethos and appreciation for service with her team of fourteen.

Some days may be full of problems, but the interior satisfaction that comes from having provided good service is what fills my heart.

For the last two years, Anita has been a supernumerary of Opus Dei. “The Work is my family,” she says as she starts to share what her day-to-day life looks like today.
