Opus Dei

6 April marked an important step in Marcelo Câmara’s process of beatification. With the conclusion of the diocesan phase of the process, documents will be sent to the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints for further study.

Julie received difficult news after the delivery of her sixth child: due to an infection from the epidural needle, her body was partially paralyzed. When her friends learned of her situation, they started planning how to support the family over the next several months. Julie narrates her own story.

"My parents and my sister are Evangelicals. I too, for much of my life, was an Evangelical. Until a friend’s invitation changed my life." Elias, a philosophy student in Mexico City, recounts the path of his conversion.

Maria is studying medicine at the university. She is cheerful, enjoys life, has many siblings, and many more friends. At first glance, it seems a life to envy. Nevertheless, like everyone, Maria also has her Achilles heel.

Berita is a young wife and mother-to-be who discovered her vocation to marriage and to Opus Dei as a supernumerary in her workplace. Here's a bit of her story.

70 years ago, in September 1948, Saint Josemaria organized a gathering for 15 men where he spelled out in detail what the vocation of married members in Opus Dei entails. An article published in "Studia et Documenta," vol. 12.

Daniel tells us how his local church in rural Kenya has been transformed thanks to the combined efforts of the parishioners and his own, when he was appointed chair of the church management committee.

May 7th 2018 is the 26th anniversary of the passing of Tomás Alvira, the first supernumerary member of Opus Dei.

A great gift for us all, fundamental to our education”, concludes his son, “was the daily experience of the love our parents had for each other, which was always on the increase. I think my mother was everything for my father and from the time he married his life would have no meaning without her”.
