Mr. Martyn Drakard, born in England, studied French and Italian literature in Birmingham University, taught for two years in Italy and finally joined Strathmore College, summarizes the beginnings of the Community Service Centre (CSC).

The Association Memoria de Alvaro del Portillo -organizers of the Beatification of Bishop Alvaro del Portillo- seeks to highlight the work carried out during his lifetime.

Near Nairobi, Kenya, Kimlea began in 1989 under the encouragement of Bishop Alvaro del Portillo. To date about 12,000 women have benefited, most of them young girls working on the tea and coffee plantations.
