Opus Dei

“To know, to experience, to live, to give witness: these four expressions sum up the response Christians are called to make to God’s Love.” God’s fatherly and loving heart is the central concern of the Prelate’s letter this month.

In his letter, Bishop Javier Echevarría advises us to draw close to the Mother of God in our prayer and ask her to teach us how to speak with her Son.

The presence of the risen Christ alongside us is an invitation to live our daily life with joy, wanting to improve our own lives and treat others mercifully. This is the Prelate’s advice in his April pastoral letter.

With Holy Week drawing close, the Prelate invites us to redouble our efforts to grow in love for God and neighbor, like runners when they see the finish line.

In his February pastoral letter, the Prelate encourages us to approach Lent with optimism and desires for conversion, in order to share in God’s joy.

In his monthly letter, Bishop Javier Echevarría reminds us that, while always respecting everyone’s freedom, we Christians have to transmit our faith by our example and word.

God comes to save us. With that hope, Bishop Echevarría suggests we prepare our hearts during Advent so that Jesus will be pleased to dwell there.

The Prelate calls us to use the liturgical feasts in November to renew our Christian life. These feasts "can help us keep our spiritual life in step with the rhythm marked out by the Church.” He also considers the 25th anniversary of the personal Prelature on November 28.

“Make it a habit to raise your heart to God, in acts of thanksgiving, many times a day,” the Prelate of Opus Dei suggests in his October letter, echoing words of St. Josemaría.

The Prelate stresses the importance of living in close union with Jesus Christ. The norms of Christian piety practiced by persons close to Opus Dei help them to share in our Lord’s Cross.
