Gachie Parish celebrates Mass of St. Josemaria.

Devotion to St. Josemaria has been growing in this parish located in the outskirts of Nairobi in Kenya.

Parishioners of St. Stephen’s Parish in Gachie gathered at 6:00 pm on the 26th of June to celebrate the feast of St. Josemaria. The Mass was said by Fr. John Ndikaru wa Teresia who urged the faithful to make a commitment to be holy just like St. Josemaria. He pointed out that St. Josemaria was an ordinary person who achieved sanctity despite great difficulties.

Devotion to St. Josemaria in the area has spread over the years and the parish Church now has an outstation named after the saint. Though no Mass was said at the outstation Church, it was packed with faithful who gathered to hear the gospel read and to say the Rosary on the feast of their patron saint.
