As part of the ongoing campaign against measles, the Ministry of Health contacted Kimlea Clinic, requesting their assistance in promoting the campaign, as there has been an outbreak of the disease throughout the whole country. Kimlea was among the few private clinics in the area requested to carry out this exercise, which was a show of confidence, considering that the clinic has only been running for two months. The Ministry of Health, Kiambu District, sent the necessary vaccines together with two nurses and a Division Public Health Officer to reinforce the Clinic Staff. The whole exercise took five days (8th to 12th July) and more than one thousand children were immunized from within a radius of 10 kilometres around Kimlea. The Clinic opened very early and closed very late in order to allow casual workers to bring their children either before reporting to work or after the day's work.
