On Saturday May 26, at 10 am, the Holy Father received Monsignor Fernando Ocáriz, Prelate of Opus Dei, in an audience.

In his homily on Pentecost, Pope Francis said: "the Church is always the youthful bride with whom the Lord is madly in love. Let us never tire of welcoming the Spirit into our lives, of invoking him before everything we do."

Pope Francis has written the preface for the second volume of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI's collected writings, on the theme "faith and politics."

"Baptism gives us strength for our daily struggle, even the struggle against the devil who like a lion tries to devour us," Pope Francis said in his April 25 general audience.

"After praying for the poor, the children made 200 sandwiches twice, with care and generosity." An outreach towards the poor, inspired by "Laudato Si."

Pope Francis has written at length about the universal call to holiness in the Church: "to that perfect holiness by which the Father himself is perfect.”

At the Wednesday general audience in St. Peter's square, Pope Francis greeted the 2,500 students taking part in the UNIV congress and gave them some advice.

On Palm Sunday, those taking part in UNIV this year attended the Pope's Mass in Saint Peter's square. With the Pope's homily and link to the final document from the Pre-Synodal Meeting for the upcoming synod on young people.

On the fiftieth anniversary of the UNIV encounters in Rome, Pope Francis has written a letter to the university students taking part.

University students from various countries read Pope Francis' "Letter to Young People" about the upcoming synod of bishops on "Young People, the Faith and Vocational Discernment."​
