“How would we have acted, if we could have chosen our own mother?” St. Josemaría asks at the beginning of this homily. He answers his own question: “I’m sure we would have chosen the one we have, adorning her with every possible grace.”
And that, he says, is exactly what Christ did for us, out of love, in the middle of his own dying on the cross.
