Opus Dei

The Holy Spirit dwells inside us. He accompanies us in our daily life, helping us to grow and improve.

Brigitte Irwin initially trained as a biologist, and now helps to run Thornycroft Hall Conference Centre, in the heart of the beautiful Cheshire countryside. The activities that take place there are organised by Opus Dei and take their inspiration from the spirit and teachings of St Josemaria Escriva, its founder. Here Brigitte explains what goes on behind the scenes in Thornycroft Hall, and reflects on the deeper repercussions she sees in her work.

Sakura Kawaguchi lives in Nagasaki City. 28 years old, married and with one daughter, she assists Opus Dei and is grateful for the Christian formation that helps keep her faith enkindled.

Fr. Joseph (José Luis Múzquiz de Miguel) was born in 1912 in Badajoz, Spain. He helped St. Josemaria spread Opus Dei to many countries, especially the United States.

On May 22, 2014, Cardinal Sean O'Malley closed the diocesan phase of his cause of canonization in Boston, where Fr. Joseph died in 1983.
