Centres of Opus Dei conduct social projects with young Australians locally and internationally. Below are a series of articles about the various projects.

During a pastoral trip to Japan in 1987, Bishop Alvaro del Poritllo explained the specific role of lay people in sanctifying the world.

In a number of cities in Australia, evenings of recollection and classes on the Catholic faith are conducted at local churches, private homes, offices, etc. (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, Hobart, Newcastle/Maitland, Wollongong)

In considering the Gospel scene of the Visitation, Bishop Alvaro del Portillo writes: "Let us learn from our Lady. If we truly are eager for the divine Master to increase our faith, let us be humble."

​Bishop Javier Echevarría last week made a brief pastoral trip to Singapore, Taiwan and Korea. Opus Dei’s apostolic work began there in a stable way in 1982, 1985 and 2009, respectively.

On May 26, Pope Francis celebrated Mass in the Upper Room, in Jerusalem. "How much charity has gone forth from here, like a river from its source: from the Heart of Christ, from the Eucharist and from the Holy Spirit."

26 June is the feast of St Josemaría Escrivá, founder of Opus Dei. Masses in his honor will be held in several cities around Australia.

A downloadable audio version of St Josemaria’s homily “The Strength of Love”, published in the book Friends of God. He explains how the Lord does not say that the proof of his disciples, faithfulness will be the working of wondrous miracles and prodigies, although he gave them the power to perform them, in the Holy Spirit. What does he tell them? "You shall be known as my disciples if you love one another".

"Beg the Holy Spirit to enkindle in your heart this fire of love for his Spouse," Bishop Alvaro del Portillo tells us in his letter from November 1988.
