Martin studied a Bachelor in Business and Information Technology in Strathmore University. He graduated in 2007. He had joined Opus Dei in 2004 when he was a student. After some years working with Bureau Veritas he left for Rome in 2010 to pursue his theological studies, as he felt God may be calling him to the priesthood.
He was ordained to the priesthood on 23rd April 2016 in the Basilica of Saint Eugenio in Rome by Bishop Javier Echevarria, Prelate of Opus Dei. He celebrated his first solemn Mass in Kenya on the 30 th April 2017 at the parish of St. Catherine of Alexandria in Nairobi, shortly after his arrival back into the country.
Since his ordination in 2016 he completed a doctorate in Theology in the University of the
Holy Cross in Rome. He also spent six months in Santiago de Compostela (Spain), a famous place of pilgrimage. Many thousands of pilgrims go there every year following the famous Camino de Santiago (“The Way of St. James). There he exercised his priestly ministry among students and married people.
He will be based in Strathmore University (his alma mater) where he will be assistant chaplain, as well as helping out in other pastoral work as needed.
We wish Fr. Martin a very warm welcome and a very fruitful priestly ministry!
