Come, Holy Spirit
Veni, Sancte Spíritus
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.
. And You shall renew the face of the earth.
let us pray
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy his consolations, through Christ Our Lord.
. Amen.
Veni, Sancte Spíritus!, reple tuórum corda fidélium: et tui amóris in eis ignem accénde.
. Emitte Spíritum tuum, et creabúntur.
. Amen.
Veni, Creator
Veni, Creátor
Come, Holy Spirit, Creator come, from your bright heavenly throne! Come, take possession of our souls, and make them all your own.
You who are called the Paraclete, best gift of God above, the living spring, the living fire, sweet unction, and true love!
You who are sevenfold in your grace, finger of God’s right hand, his promise, teaching little ones to speak and understand!
O guide our minds with your blessed light, with love our hearts inflame, and with your strength which never decays, confirm our mortal frame.
Far from us drive our hellish foe; true peace unto us bring, and through all perils guide us safe beneath your sacred wing.
Through You may we the Father know, through You the eternal Son and You the Spirit of them both, thrice-blessed three in one.
All glory to the Father be, and to the risen Son; the same to You, O Paraclete,
while endless ages run. Amen.
Amen.

Pentecost Sequence
Holy Spirit, come, and from your celestial home shed a ray of light divine.
Come, Father of the poor. Come, source of all our store. Come, within our bosoms shine.
You, of comforters the best; You, the soul’s most welcome guest; sweet refreshment here below;
In our labor, rest most sweet; grateful coolness in the heat; solace in the midst of woe.
O most blessed Light divine, shine within these hearts of yours, and our inmost being fill.
Where You are not, we have naught, nothing good in deed or thought, nothing free from taint of ill.
Heal our wounds, our strength renew; on our dryness pour your dew; wash the stains of guilt away:
Bend the stubborn heart and will; melt the frozen, warm the chill; guide the steps that go astray.
On the faithful, who adore and confess You, evermore on your sevenfold gift descend;
Give them virtue’s sure reward; give them your salvation, Lord; give them joys that never end.
Sequentia
Veni, Sancte Spíritus, et emítte cǽlitus lucis tuæ rádium.
Veni, pater páuperum, veni, dator múnerum, veni, lumen córdium.
Consolátor óptime, dulcis hospes ánimæ, dulce refrigérium.
In labóre réquies, in æstu tempéries, in fletu solácium.
