Opus Dei

The prelate of Opus Dei, Monsignor Fernando Ocáriz, wishes us a merry Christmas and invites us to renew our hope in God, who calls us to faith, dedication and service.

The Prelate of Opus Dei sends his Christmas greetings and invites us to reflect on the central message of the Jubilee that will begin soon in the Church: hope.

From 13-16 August, Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz visited Colombia and met with many people. This video summarizes some of those gatherings.

From July 24-30, the Prelate met with members and friends of Opus Dei in Chile. On his last day he visited the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, where Saint Josemaría had visited 50 years ago.

On the solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Prelate of Opus Dei invites us to live "in heaven and on earth at the same time": with our minds deeply immersed in God and our feet firmly planted on the ground.

On Sunday, Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz met with families and friends of Opus Dei at Intisana School in Quito. Among other memorable moments, Andrés, a commercial pilot, asked him how to sanctify work and family, and Ángela requested prayers for an initiative to support women in vulnerable situations. On Monday afternoon, the Prelate will travel on to the final stage of his trip in Colombia.

From 30 July to 8 August, Monsignor Fernando Ocáriz visited Arequipa, Piura, and Lima. At the same time of year, 50 years ago, St. Josemaría traveled to Peru to be with members and friends of Opus Dei there in 1974.

After his visit to Milan, the Prelate of Opus Dei invites us to continue praying for the revision of the Statutes, his upcoming pastoral trips, and the Church.

In July and August, Msgr.Fernando Ocáriz will travel to Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela to spend time with the faithful and friends of Opus Dei. The visit is taking place in the context of the 50th anniversary of Saint Josemaría's journey to several Latin American countries.
