Opus Dei

On Saturday, 18 members of Opus Dei from 12 countries were ordained as deacons by Bishop Stephen Lee Bun-Sang of Macau. The ceremony took place at the Basilica of Saint Eugene in Rome.

On November 2, All Souls Day, the Church reminds us of the need to pray for those who have died and are now being purified.

During the BeDoCare conferences held in Kenya this October, Fr. Javier del Castillo, Vicar General of Opus Dei, gave a talk in which he invited participants to reflect on the “culture of gift,” rooted in people’s daily “yes,” their generosity, and their spirit of service, across three key areas: family, professional work, and care and social charity.

The Josemaría Escrivá Research Center (CEJE), which celebrated its thirtieth anniversary in October, is entering a period of expansion and renewal. Founded in the 1990s as a bibliographic repository on Josemaría Escrivá and Opus Dei, it now combines documentation, research, and outreach with an increasingly international scope.

The relics of Saint Severinus are preserved in Villa Tevere in Rome, where the central offices of Opus Dei are located. In the centers of the Prelature the votive Mass in honor Saint Severinus is celebrated on 8 November.

Interview with Fernanda Zaidan Lopes, a chemistry graduate (Brazil, 1986) and chair of the Preparatory Committee for the centenary Opus Dei (2028-2030) for the past four years.
