An Impossible Passport Situation

In July of 2011, I began the process of renewing my passport which was to expire in October. For the first time, I was being asked for certain documents that could only be obtained in the country where I was born. But this only became clear after the passport had already expired, a fact which prevented me from traveling to obtain the documents I needed.

In July of 2011, I began the process to renew my passport, set to expire in October. Having done this before, suddenly I was being asked for certain documents that could only be obtained in the country where I was born. But this only became clear after the passport had already expired, a fact which prevented me from traveling to obtain the documents I needed. At the same time, I needed the passport to also renew my Italian residence permit.

I began to mobilize many of my family members back home, and in spite putting all the means, they continued to deny me the passport.

Sometime in November, they told me that I wouldn't be able to do anything else. That same night, before going to bed I prayed a novena of prayer cards to Dora's intercession asking for help. I prayed with faith and, looking at the prayer card as my heart throbbed, I told her, "Dora, tomorrow I want to go pick up my passport."

The passport arrived the next day. I owe it to Dora and I am very grateful. Now I ask her for even the little things.
